A Grand Humanity Reverence (Gubai) Ceremony Involving a Hundred People Conveys Nostalgia for Primordial Families and Homelands

On April 27, 2024, the anticipated “Daren Culture” event was held as scheduled in Auckland. In this humanity-rich cultural event, two grand-scale Gubai ceremonies, each involving a hundred participants, were presented in public for the first time. Friends from various walks of life, both Eastern and Western, participated in the Daren Gubai Ceremonies, experiencing this cultural ceremony that integrates ancient, modern, Eastern, and Western traditions.

Amidst the melodious music, participants of the Gubai ceremony lined up one by one, wearing ceremonial scarves, forming an impressive procession that became the center of attention. On the worship stage, incense burners, candlesticks, and fresh flowers were arranged, creating an atmosphere that was both solemn and humane.

The first part of the ceremony is “Respecting humanity and Entering the gate”, guided by two hosts, the participants focused on the Gubai worship stage, expressing their longing and nostalgia for their celestial families and homelands.

The second part is “The Benevolence Hall (Rentang) Gubai”, guided by the hosts, involved participants reciting worship verses, offering tea, inscribing names, and presenting the Gubai poem. “At this moment, as I approach home, I’m touched with deep reverence.” People paid respect to their celestial families and ancestors through traditional tea-serving etiquette.

The third part is “Daren Recitation,” when participants collectively reciting the chapter “A Hundred Schools of Thought Contend” from the book “The Human World of The People,” experiencing the humane and simple sentiments of Chinese civilization, and appreciating the profound essence of “unity of heaven, earth, and humanity.”

The fourth part is “Unified Singing of Hearts and Voices”, participants sang the original Daren song “Human Supremacy”, expressing their deep longing for a harmonious Daren life.

Finally, in the fifth part, “Nostalgic Tea Time,” participants received a bag of tea and snack, taking home a piece of serene hometown sentiment.

Through participating in and experiencing the Gubai ceremony, everyone immersed themselves in the harmony between humans and nature, humans and their celestial families and ancestors, experiencing the overall realm of unity between heaven and humanity. In seemingly ordinary life, people’s minds and bodies were immersed in the field of humanity, undergoing purification and sublimation. Some participants were deeply moved, tears welling up in their eyes.

The Daren Gubai ceremony concluded successfully, not only as a profound tribute to the homeland and ancestors but also as a solemn praise for the concept of “The Honor of Humanity Is Paramount”.
