Distinguished Guests, Dear Daren Volunteers, Ladies and Gentlemen, Greetings!
Opening Remarks
We are together again! I’m truly delighted to have the opportunity to hold an interesting and innovative event with all of you again.
I hope this will add a touch of brightness and warmth of humanity to our ordinary lives.
Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your participation and to all the Daren volunteers for your dedication!
1. The Theme and Features of this Event
Next, I will introduce the theme and features of this event.
The theme of today’s event is “Large-Scale Conversations”. We aim to bring everyone a brand-new experience.
What makes it brand-new? Although it appears to have tables, chairs and sofas, we’re not here just for pastime; while there are drinks and snacks, this is not simply about eating and drinking.
This conversation is different from usual talk sessions or tea gatherings. But uniquely, the focus is on conversation itself.
We’ve set up many conversation topics, or no topics in certain areas—we simply focus on people.
Everyone is free to choose the topics they’re interested in and fully enjoy talking with the people around them. Everyone is warmly invited to participate!
2. The Purpose of this Conversation Event
Also, I would like to introduce the purpose of this Conversation Event.
Conversations may seem ordinary and common, but because of this, it has a broad applicability and a great carrying capacity.
With so many of us gathered here, we can expand our discussion on various hot topics that concern us, happen around us or in society.
We hope this conversation is purely driven by our humanity and innate nature—conversation that centers on and cares for each other as human beings.
We hope this conversation is free from material gains and competitive comparison—purer even than a class reunion or a gathering of old friends. This is a conversation among us as human beings.
We hope this conversation can help everyone begin to build connections purely belong to humans.
3. How we address real-world issues
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how we can address real-world issues.
Daren advocates focusing on humanity and putting people first. However, undoubtedly, the more important is how to take actions and turn it into a reality, and how to help everyone solve real-life problems, rather than merely shouting slogans.
I know that each of you is an expert in your own field and you are doing better than us in many aspects. In these areas, not only can we not compare with you, but also, we need to modestly learn from you.
So, what is Daren going to do? How can we offer our modest help, within our ability, to everyone?
We won’t overreach by giving opinions on areas you are already good at. Instead, we will focus on deeply exploring the common human potential that we all share. By making practical achievements in this regard, we can help everyone better solve their own issues in various aspects, so as to make fundamental breakthroughs.
4. Human Commonalities and Potentials
Please allow me to further illustrate what human commonalities and potentials really are.
We all know that humans are the spirit of all things. This is a commonality. But to what extent our “spirituality” can truly reach? How great is this potential? I believe many people don’t know the answer.
We all know that humans are the most precious beings. This is a commonality. But to what extent are we truly “precious”? How profound is this potential? Again, I believe many people don’t have an idea.
We will gradually unveil this mystery for everyone, to reveal the “spirituality” and “preciousness” inherent in each person. This will let everyone know how “spiritual” and “precious” they really are.
This is what we have been persistently striving to breakthrough for many years. Please stay tuned for what’s to come.
5. Return to the Topic of Conversation
Finally, let’s return to the topic of conversation itself.
Although we call it a “large-scale conversation event,” as you can all see, there is more than just conversation. We also have each and every one of you—respectable and lovely people—and we have scenery as beautiful as a painting.
We as human beings, the things we do, and everything around us—we call all of these collectively as the Rentang of the People. Rentang means the Hall of Great Benevolence.
Ultimately, the Rentang of the People will bring about The Human World of The People. Conversation is the core form of the Rentang of the People—it is an essential way for us to connect with each other.
The Daren Culture Event in April, today’s Daren Conversation Event in July, along with other follow-up activities to be held in the near future—these are just the warm-ups.
The great gift we are preparing for everyone and society is still on the way.
We look forward to presenting it to all of you as soon as possible!
